Director of the Grid Integration Department of CENER. Monica has a PhD. in Industrial Engineering with expertise in renewable energies and storage energy systems and has over 24 years of experience as a researcher and engineer developing her career in the public and private sector, nationally and internationally. 

She is Professor in the Electric and Electronic Engineering Department at the Public University of Navarra, Spain. Author of numerous scientific publications and two patents, she has participated in many national and international expert groups, committees, and conferences. 

She is also an expert evaluator in national and international evaluation processes. Her specialism includes Renewable Energy, Grid Integration, Smart Grids, Electrical Storage Systems, Sustainable Mobility. 

In this expert talk Dr. Aguado clarifies the relationship between smart Grids and the European building stock, explaining the importance of increasing the number of Grid-interactive buildings to achieve energy efficiency targets in a timely manner.

During this interview, Dr. Aguado highlights the significance of the building occupant and how a grid-interactive building could fundamentally improve the management of energy consumption and lead to energy savings.
