In the new article "PV Pergola – Combining energy, nature and recreational space", INFINITE, Horizon 2020 funded project, shows a new approach to sustainable urban design with the PV Pergola concept.

Collaborating with students from the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, this concept merges greenery and photovoltaics. By integrating solar panels within timber pergolas, the pergolas not only generates clean energy but also offers shaded spaces for communal interaction and recreation.

In collaboration with Rubner Holzbau and Eurac Research, the students further refined the PV Pergola concept. The project focused on modular designs for flat roofs, balconies, and ground areas. Key aspects included modular construction, PV module suitability, and planting systems.
