Guard house at the Eiffage Sénégal headquarters

Renovation with clay for sustainable and comfortable buildings in Senegal.
Editorial Team

A guard house at Eiffage Sénégal headquarters was renovated to improve thermal comfort and showcase the impact of locally produced baked clay on building temperature regulation.

The project received a Hot Climates Prize in the Green Solutions Awards 2022-2023

With Senegal's booming concrete construction market facing overheating issues, the project aimed to reduce reliance on air conditioning to cut greenhouse gas emissions.

Positioned at the headquarters' entrance to be visible to stakeholders, the renovation served as a pilot for thermal upgrades and promoted clay as a modern, climate friendly material, challenging its perception as a second-rate material in Senegal.
