The main aim of the web tool is to provide detailed information on the energy performance of the EU building stock, while also monitoring and evaluating the EU policies.

The tool comprises of a database, a datamapper and factsheets which provide information on the energy consumption, building elements, technical building systems, energy performance certificates, nZEB and renovation rates, energy poverty and financial aspects.

• BSO database: can be viewed per topic, year and country, or EU as a whole. Data is presented in summary tables and graphs with appropriate references.
• BSO datamapper: it uses maps and graphs to represent indicators and allows to do benchmarking between EU countries
• BSO factsheets: they show a snapshot of relevant indicators at EU and countries´ levels.
