Europe has to decarbonise heating and cooling to save climate

Editorial Team

Heating and cooling account for half of the final EU energy use, therefore decarbonising them is crucial to meet the future targets. There are currently more options to decarbonise heating and cooling, apart from biomass, and that is through the implementation of heat pumps.

The briefing analyses the heating and cooling trends across the EU. It also highlights the benefits of combining energy efficiency and consevation measures while switching to renewables and waste energy use in heating and cooling.
