This slide presentation from REHVA, the Federation of European Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associations, was given during a Workshop about commissioning of buildings in India held in February 2014. It emphasises the needs for commissioning, describes the commissioning process and provides some examples and results of commissioning in the design phase and in the operational phase.

The supply of heat through district energy systems is a common technology used by local municipalities across Europe, but far from all are efficient and many of the local actors’ struggle with the challenge of transforming these systems into efficient systems. Polish district heating needs modernisation, important to improve air quality and reach the European climate goals.

Das Facility Management ist eine anspruchsvolle Managementaufgabe, die meist nicht mehr von Gebäudeeigentümerorganisation sondern von speziellen Dienstleistern ausgeübt wird. Dabei werden alle drei Dimensionen der Nachhaltigkeit berührt: Ökonomie (z.B. Betriebskosten und gesteigertes Output der Beschäftigten), Ökologie (z.B. Ressourceneffizienz und Emissionen) und der soziokulturelle Bereich (z.B. Nutzerkomfort).
